Senior Media Planner

Overview

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in delivering full end-to-end traditional and non-traditional media campaigns covering both UK and International markets. You should have a strong ability to strategise and plan campaigns using trade media channels i.e. print, tv, audio etc, with extensive knowledge on global media trends and initiatives. We need someone with the ability to digest our clients’ problems, and create effective media solutions supported with expert knowledge and data.

Being client facing, the successful candidate will be the go-to person for media including but not limited to job boards, publications, out of home, TV and radio. They will be liaising regularly with third party media partners, negotiating packages and coordinating between them and the client. We are looking for someone who is an expert in media and can push proactive strategies to recommend to our clients alongside supporting the Digital Marketing Manager in the overarching campaign.

As a Senior Media Planner, you will have the opportunity to work with major global brands from a range of industries including but not limited to: healthcare, education, travel, FMCG, tech, finance and more. The ideal candidate will have experience in:

Campaign Strategy & Planning

  • Digesting the client brief and acting as a marketing expert within your field building campaign and channel strategy recommendations
  • Developing bespoke media strategies, collaborating with the Digital Marketing Manager and project teams across the agency and using a variety of traditional media and job board channels
  • Confidence in understanding the key client problem, and ensuring ROI is central in all campaign strategies

Media Planning & Campaign Management

  • Ability to tailor media strategy as the client challenges evolve over the course of the campaign, which will include traditional media options and packages
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with third party providers such as job boards, out of home media owners and negotiate media packages
  • Curation of complex media plans, ensuring campaigns and placements go live on time and all assets are shared on time including tracking

Tagging, Tracking & Analytics

  • Ability to talk to clients about performance and advise on optimisations and next steps in a proactive manner based on their campaign needs
  • Proficient in media performance tracking i.e. UTMs, click trackers, impression trackers
  • Ability to analyse campaign data to derive learning and ROI
  • Good understanding of Google Analytics for media performance tracking

Client & Stakeholder Presentation Skills

  • Strong presentation skills, ability to explain campaign strategies and ROI to clients
  • Ability to work as part of a wider marketing team

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in media management, planning and negotiation
  • Agency experience preferred, but not essential
  • Job board management experience highly preferred
  • Good understanding of Google Analytics, Google Ads and Digital Marketing
